  7.  The Church has been like a football match. 22 players in dire
  8.  need of rest and 22000 spectators in need of exercise.
  9.  
  10.  This passive spectator mentality, this pew warming needs to be
  11.  exposed for what it is, the church needs to return to a book of
  12.  Acts lifestyle. Acts. 3:21.
  13.  
  14.  DISCOVER DEVELOP AND DEPLOY YOUR MINISTRY GIFT.

  16.  In 1 Cor. 12:12-27 Paul conveys this need.
  17.  
  18.  I. Each Member Has A Special Task. v.14-15
  19.  
  20.      1. v.12. "All members of one body"
  21.      2. v.13. "baptised into one body".
  22.      3. v.18. "God has set members every one of them in the body.
  23.      4. v.7.  "The manifestation of the Spirit was given for
  24.                common good".
  25.  NOTE. It is not an INDIVIDUAL HERO or FLAMING PROPHET but A
  26.  FUNCTIONING CHURCH. Eph. 4:16. "According to the working of each
  27.  individual part"

  29.  II. Differences Remind Us We Need Each Other. v.19-21

  31.      1. v.19. "If they were all one member where was the body."
  32.                a. not just a big (I) eye!
  33.                b. not just a big Foot.!
  34.  
  35.  III. Each Member Is Absolutely Necessary. v.22-24
  36.  
  37.      1. v.22.  Members which seem more feeble are necessary.
  38.         v.24.  Remember "God has put the body together."

  40.  IV. A Genuine Loving Care For Each Other. v.25-26

  42.      1. v.25. "Members should have the same care one for the
  43.                other"
  44.         v.26. "One member suffers all members suffer"
  45.         v.26. "One rejoices all rejoice."

  47.  V. Basic Problems in the Body
  48.  
  49.      1. A tendency to downgrade oneself.
  50.         
  51.         v. 15. The foot is downgrading itself because it is not
  52.                the hand.
  53.           - we have songs about tender touches
  54.           - we have advertising about smooth hands and beautiful
  55.                nails.
  56.           - we have sculptures of praying hands.
  57.           - NOBODY SINGS ABOUT TENDER FEET. We only get a SWIFT
  58.                KICK.
  59.         v.16. The ear is downgrading itself because it is not the
  60.                eye.
  61.           -  anybody know songs about somebody's ears?
  62.           -  I knew a lad whose ears looked like a taxi going
  63.                along with its doors open.

  65.        v.17 now we bring the nose into the picture.
  66.           -  ever been told you have a protruding proboscis?
  67.           -  ever been told you were nosy?

  69.      NOTE . If one downgrades oneself he will:
  70.                -  withdraw.
  71.                -  rob the body of his supply.
  72.                -  He places himself in a place of disagreement
  73.                   and opposes God's choice for his life.

  76.      2. A Tendency To Downgrade Others
  77.        
  78.        v.21 " the eye cannot say I have no need of thee."
  79.             " the hand or the feet I have no need of thee."

  81.  LESS COMELY PARTS HAVE A TENDENCY TO DOWNGRADE THEMSELVES.
  82.  (without any help from others!)
